Fresh Lemon Juice

Freshly squeezed lemon juice can be effective. Use one to three lemons and squeeze them until you have half of a cup of lemon juice. Whiten whites and remove all sorts of odors, such as smoke, just by adding ½ a cup of lemon juice to the wash.

Vinegar Presoak

Use a mixture of one cup vinegar and warm water in a washbasin or sink. Soak your clothing for one hour and then wash them as usual.

Vodka

Alcohol is a powerful odor remover and safe on most washable fabrics. Pour ½ cup of cheap vodka (or rubbing alcohol) into the wash to eliminate tough odors.

Febreze Odor Eliminator

Febreze is an in-wash detergent booster (used in addition to detergent) designed to target tough odors. It can also be found at most superstores or ordered online.

These easy ways will help to remove the smoke smell from most fabrics. They also work really well on fabrics that have a mildew smell. You should be able to get the various smells out of clothes that have become stinky and unwearable.
